Last Saturday i went for another random trip with Liza and Jessie..again..this time i would say a "Discovery Channel" random trip....to see and witness one of the colorful festivals in Malaysia, Thaipusam in Batu Caves, Selangor.
My adventure started as early as 8 in the morning and it was my FIRST time going beyond the KLCC station, this time to the end of the station, Gombak @ Putra line.
Along the way..beyond KLCC station...1st time...
It was exciting and fun...seeing is believing and experiencing things first hand as most of the time i would be watching the festival in television or hearing it from people.
The famous Batu Caves
Up-close and personal
He gave best pose for me :) @ kavadi carrier
Different colorful kavadi
Symbol of faith and belief of religion
DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!
The man in front was being possessed by spirits @ Gods @ deity...
My first time seeing it REAL LIFE
And so the great climb begin...
272 steps to go top...
A few more steps to go and still there are many devotees and tourists climbing up...under the hot sun...around 1 2 pm
The main entrance above..
Inside the cave...the entrance
Me, Liza and Jessie in front of the entrance
Part of the interior of the cave...i was like thinking of Indiana Jones and its adventure while exploring the cave...
It was full of people
The cave was decorated with idols and temples...
This is another level of the cave...its the outside of the cave on the other side...the main temple
Met up with Sajad...an Iranian student from University Malaya..he was kind enough to treat me and my friends drinks and bus tickets..thank you :)
I was imagining myself and Liza in Hawaii...cool right? :D
As i descend down there are still people doing their prayers and ritual
The view from the top..
Once again i had fun going on a Discovery Channel random trip courtesy of Liza and Jessie..thank you :D
P/S: It was really an eye opener for me :D Happy Thaipusam :)
